Of interest. Lamon is credited with being the author of two books — “The Life of Abraham Lincoln from his birth to his inauguration as President” and “Recollections of Abraham Lincoln”. He didn’t write either. The only book he actually wrote is “The Life of Abraham Lincoln As President” published for the fist time in 2010 by Infinity Publishing.
I found the book in the Huntington Library and obtained the writes to publish it. I edited it, adding 1732 footnotes.

Well this book is a collection of Lamon’s previously unpublished writings about Lincoln, edited by his daughter, so I would argue that he is the author.
